We had a great day sailing with some good positive winds fuelling our progress steadily south. We ran most of the day with our Code 1 Spinnaker, but changed as we ran into the evening to a Code 2 Spinnaker.

As I chisel this note into an electronic slate board, we are whizzing along at 15 knots trying to catch those faster fellows up front and hoping that they might have the decency to wait for us!

By the time you get to read this blog we will have in the region of 4,500 nautical miles to go.

Yesterday evening provided us with a lively ride with two broaches largely caused by stronger winds from the wind acceleration zone and helm/trimmer communication. It’s always an effective aid to waking up in the middle of the night when the boat is lying on its side and being dragged through the water. The poor guys down below got chucked from their bunks just before their watch started. All were clipped on of course and all are just fine.

No penguins seen today but we did see two pods of dolphins and two whales.

There is a bit of a cold going round the boat which as well as being a fine racing machine is also a 70 foot petrie dish. It’s my turn (Skipper Mike) and as a consequence, I have lost my voice. All my instructions are having to be relayed and sometimes, the little monkeys, are selectively passing on and sometimes modifying what I asked for. There has definitely been a down turn in the tea consumption as a consequence.

The night sky was spectacular with awesome definition and the beauty of the Milky Way clear to be humbled by.

We aborted previous plans for deck showers but are hoping to have another go today (conditions dependant).

Usual love and regards from the crew on Imagine your Korea.
