Good morning,

Whilst I always enjoy writing the daily blog, this is probably the last one for the Leg 2 race and what a race it's been.

On reflection, labelling it as one race is probably too broad; this has definitely been a race of three halves.

The first half delivered technical difficulties which we worked to overcome but the seas were gentle the sun warm and the winds fair. It also delivered our Scoring Gate victory and three bonus points.

The second half delivered a series of low pressure systems that were fast and furious, winds that did not provide comfort but certainly provided propulsion towards the third half and our planning delivered as it should have.

The third half delivered a technical blow which the outcome was akin to having your legs tied together when running marathon and ultimately this will determine our final result.

Three halves, I hear you say, “is not possible?”well, nor is the breadth of experience we have had on the leg. We have had technical issues, most of which we have resolved en route. We have seen our new planning process implemented and working. We have seen some of the less experienced and maybe not so confident crew members grow enormously into their roles, and we have seen some great competition and boat speed so three halves are definitely appropriate.

Our turkish bath remains a turkish bath and is desperately awaiting a deep clean and our magnificent sailing machine has looked after us, protected us well and provided us with some essential if not basic comforts,

Despite our technical issues, we continue to fight for our final position in the race.

A small distance to go (just 188 nautical miles), and some of our friends will be leaving us. Rob (returning later), Simon and Josef, all big characters who have been with us since Leg 1, thanks guys for a great contribution and keep following us.

So, an early hours finish we hope at Cape Town V&A Waterfront.

WARNING: Do not approach a crew member of Imagine your Korea without haz-chem protection until they have had a shower! And, if anyone is found worse for wear in Cape Town V&A Waterfront singing some incoherent Gangnam Style song please return them to Imagine your Korea, they probably belong to us.

Thank you for reading our daily blogs and we look forward to sharing a new series on Leg 3 Cape Town to Fremantle.

Normal love and regards,

Mike, Sam and the crew of Imagine your Korea
