Day 2 of Race 2 from Punta del Este. After completing the parade and a short triangular race to thank all the Portimão supporters we headed south with an unexpected strong breeze. We settled straight away into our roles and started focusing on sailing fast. During day two we have seen mainly light winds and it has been challenging at times keeping the boat moving. With some night breeze some of the crew have been practicing their night hemming skills, which takes some time to master. Also at night one of our Spanish crew members Tono has been working with his celestial navigation book to find the different stars and constellations. Next step will be to get the sextant out and plot some positions using the stars and the sun.

Everyday on the Punta del Este yacht we have a happy hour where the different watches get together for information sharing and a bit a social fun time. After sharing the race status with the crew, Mary organised on deck a set of stretching exercises for all the crew. We had some fun trying to get into the positions around a crowded deck with our life jackets and sailing gear.
