Hola from Punta del Este!
Most sailing is physically demanding. Racing a 70-footer with 20 crew on board, around the globe is one of the most extreme challenges you can imagine, and to lead a crew for this challenge is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Mental preparation can be equally critical. I’m continually visualising how the team could problem solve different scenarios. Sailing with very little wind near our destination can be frustrating to say the least. Patience and determination are the key to success, but it is mentally draining. Shorter time in the task in hand and motivation songs are helping us to overcome these moments of moving really slowly towards the finish line at Subic Bay, Philippines.
