Hola from Punta del Este!

Race 7 is proving to be an exciting one and the intensity of racing hasn't faded from the race start two days ago. Punta del Este crew, Ryan and I are loving it and fighting for every inch. Part of the fleet including us, Qingdao, Unicef and Ha Long Bay, Viet Nam did choose the route closest to land and the rest of the fleet went out trying to find some wind in these soul-breaking wind holes. We were overtaken several times by Qingdao and then it was our turn to get in front. Wind is picking up and it looks like it will be here for a while, which is great news for us to make some ground and sail fast.

Life on board is more race focused on this short race than others before. There is no time to lower the guard in such short distances or it would be really challenging to recover positions once lost. Our victualing in Subic Bay included some ready meals so we wouldn't have to cook during the first few days.

We continue racing!
