Just another few hours. Well, that is what I’m still saying. This morning I did alter it to just another few hours, then hopefully we will have some of the sailing that we well and truly would like, downwind, beam on wind, any wind, as long as it’s not on the nose any more. We get little teasers and then the wind goes back to fully on the nose again. I can honestly say this is the longest stretch of upwind sailing in a row that I have done. You may say it’s character building, but my character does not need any more building...

Well, rant over. All is well on board the mighty Sanya Serenity Coast. We are a bit lucky in that it is not as cold as it was, I actually ventured on deck with - wait for it, socks with crocs, albeit waterproof socks. But the truly tough man award goes to Mike Miller, who in our 100 days to Sanya video appeared in shorts and a t-shirt. Crazy. He soon was huddled back in the galley getting warm.

Andy, lesson two on all things Aus; we don’t call them shrimps, they are prawns. That was all because of a marketing campaign to the US starring Paul Hogan, he of Crocodile Dundee fame.

Christmas is all about going for a swim, having a seafood lunch (well, not me, I’m a veggo), getting a surf in before breakfast, or the day before the Sydney to Hobart Race, so a few afternoon beers at the CYCA. As a kid, it’s about getting a new surf mat (this is before boogie boards came along), cossies and towel, and basically seeing how many days out of the Christmas holidays you could spend in the surf (Santa wears board shorts). Thanks Andy that just took me back home to sunshine and happiness.

Anyway, sailing wise, just a little bit more and we should be freeing up. I think I’m repeating myself here, anyway you get the picture.

The serenity is the same as yesterday and the day before and the day before...

Love youse all,

Wen
