Back in the Juan de Fuca, and back to ‘Michelin Man’ like dressing.

Although brief, I think the whole crew enjoyed our stopover in Seattle, but none more so than the boat herself. Big big thank you to our Maintenance Team and the logistics/ general Race Office team for their hard work and organising it all so well, making sure that the boats were in great condition for this next leg. Visit Sanya, China is fibre-glassed up to the teeth and we even got a fresh coat of paint around the galley - a boat’s version of botox, she looks at least five years younger.

We have some guest stars from Punta del Este and Ha Long Bay, Viet Nam on board this leg - Andrew and Izzy - whom we are immensely grateful for. It is dead lovely to see how the fleet rallied to help us out when our team numbers were a bit low. Thank you Jeronimo and the Punta del Este team, I know you didn't really want Andrew to go and now there are two Punta del Este defectors on Visit Sanya, China. We will train him well for Race 12 Panama to Bermuda (or at least make sure he knows how to make cinnamon buns). Josh and Angela, cheers for training Izzy for us, she's a delight!

Rick, Liz, Trish and Baz, we all miss you dearly and wish you the speediest recovery to hopefully see you back onboard in Panama. We'll keep on keeping on and do our best to keep you entertained on the race viewer. Can't promise we'll have eaten all the allotted sweetcorn however.

Jai Yo Sanya!

Mary, Mike and the blended family of our Visit Sanya, China crew
