Hello,

Last night was another frustrating night on board which light and variable winds as we weave our way up along the Gold Coast. Looking at the weather, we could have been stuck on this coast for a couple of days trying to clear Fraser Island, so last night I had a conversation with Mark Light, Race Director, and after a conversation with the crew we made the decision to accept 11th place in the race and proceed at best speed to Airlie Beach using engine and sail. This is disappointing after we made up a good distance across the ocean sprint on the rest of the fleet but in order to have enough time to maintain the boat and rest our crew (after an already short stop in Fremantle) I feel this is the correct decision.

Whilst under engine today, we have started getting some jobs ticked off, the main sail has been down and patches added, the code 2 has had some patches added and winches have been serviced.

Until tomorrow,

Seumas
