Hello,

So it's been heating up here on board Visit Sanya, China. The crew have all become uber competitive, honing their skills, training with each other and trying to squeeze all they can out of it. I obviously refer to the most intense backgammon tournament this side of Manilla, forget the round the world yacht race this is the Visit Sanya, China backgammon tourney! My first adversary was Rick, from Australia, he seemed unconfident and spoke with unfamiliarity of backgammon but when it came to playing he dispatched me with no problems at all so I’m now left to watch on as we move into the second round.

In other news we had a pigeon land onboard the other day, I decided to call him Pate, I’m sure he would have tasted great! Unlike most birds that land on the deck Pate was quite happy to eat and drink and was clearly used to being around humans due to his friendly nature but also the tag around his leg, maybe he is a racing pigeon? I expect him hitching a ride with us is a kin to a marathon competitor getting a taxi?

Okay now onto the less important stuff, the race. We’re in the final stage with 70 miles to go and as I am sat here typing the rest of the fleet have just joined us and WTC Logistics on AIS making it an ever closer dash to the finish. It is still anyone's game as we eat up the final few miles. Who knows who will take the crown for the first race of Leg 5 we will just have to wait and see. So hopefully next time I write a blog it will be after leaving Subic Bay, until then wish us luck and we will race on for the finish.
