Hello

And another 24 hours has been spent fighting the light winds off the west coast of Luzon. Originally the weather didn’t look too bad for us making our way north, but it has turned out to be worse than it was on our way south to Subic Bay for the first time. We shared our water last night with Ha Long Bay, Viet Nam (hello Josh) and now they have headed east, and we are with Seattle and Zhuhai, (hello Dave and Wendo). On the plus side by the time we finally leave Subic Bay we will be well versed in scaling the coast of Luzon.

So, we have declared our sprint direction- we’ll just have to wait and see what the other teams go for…

Even to make the smallest of miles the crew have had to be completely switched on, monitoring wind angles and course to make sure were heading in the right direction at the best speed. Often that has been just trying to reduce the speed at which we have been going backwards, which is not a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to the cooler weather as we head north, we’ve been in this heat for quite some time now and a nice cool breeze wouldn’t go amiss right now.

Until tomorrow,

Seumas
