Good Morning,

Our glorious power reaching has continued uninterrupted for a further 48hrs. We did not break the transatlantic monohull record this time but nevertheless, we have made some excellent miles with New York now 1200nm behind us. Our best 24hr run so far has been 290nm.

All focus remains on a clean and fast transition through an area of light wind. The next 24hrs are a big deal. If all goes to plan (Plan no.85 version 3) then Unicef should continue speeding downwind towards Derry~Londonderry. There are several different strategies afoot with the lure of the stronger Gulf Stream, faster spinnaker angles and a Scoring Gate influencing current decisions. Over the coming 48hrs it looks likely that the rich will get richer if they can keep their noses clean and the boats towards the rear may be slowed down. Time will tell. I am sure there is a correlation somewhere between isobars and the first boats to the Irish bars…

In other news,

- We are on a super tanker highway with Immingham UK being a very popular destination choice at this time of year.

- Our 4th July celebrations were extravagant today and the food was delicious thanks to Holly and Greg.

- In 25 days we will be in London!

Here we go.
