Good Morning,

We have been hissing along like a snake with a lisp. Our progress so far has been remarkable and I can't quite believe that there is only 1200 nm to Derry~Londonderry. The past 48hrs have been a little moody. Commo described the scene very well: "This looks like... the North Atlantic". The sky has been grey at times with some large clouds bringing us plenty of wind. We covered 600 nm in two days which was a lot of fun. Even better, every mile was in the right direction! Our southern routing was a bit conservative in hindsight. An average speed of 12.7knt over 24hrs was very unexpected but very welcome. Seattle and Visit Sanya, China have sailed to the north of us and transitioned cleanly so we will have to keep an eye on them.

We must not get complacent out here. This is serious business and the North Atlantic can be unforgiving. We are watching each other's backs and trying not to focus on ETAs too much. This race has taught us to expect the unexpected. So we remain alert and vigilant for anything that might burst our bubbles, or our spinnakers. With a beautiful 20 knot down-wind forecast, smooth seas and endless spinnaker sailing predicted, this is the stuff of dreams.

Here we go.

Ian and Dan
