As predicted, the day was tricky yesterday. Although we sailed in glorious sunshine and the boat was flat, the light northerly breeze made for tough racing and some difficult decisions. We had Qingdao and Imagine your Korea in close company all day, which kept us honest and sailing hard, but we were always aware of the boats that had gone east off the startline, and who thus had a more favourable breeze through day two. Luckily, it would appear that they had an almost equally tough time of it yesterday, and so, as is the Clipper Race way, we find ourselves in a small pack all over again as we close the Moroccan coastline. Our eyes are peeled for fishing pots (some of which are helpfully lit, but many aren't) and the promised fresher wind that will drive us down to the Canaries.

Life is settling into a happy routine, with poems being written, astrophysics being discussed, heads being cleaned and memories being made. It is going to be a long race, but the crew are in a good place, and raring to fight to lift us above our current mid-table position.

Here we go.
