Race 8 is underway. After a great stopover in Ha Long Bay, the crew are well rested and were itching to get back on the water. After a short motor through the islands in Ha Long Bay we carried on for a bit to get into some wind and find an empty patch of South China Sea to conduct our Le Mans start, masterfully lead my Max, the skipper on Our Isles and Oceans. Following the seemingly standard format of a wind hole just after the Race Start, we as now bobbing around waiting for the wind to fill in after a busy night of spinnaker flying. This race is only 600nm and according to the forecasts we will have to navigate not only this current wind hole but also one just before the finish. Hopefully this time we can hold off the boats behind us.
