This race has been just lovely. So far, we have had four days of relentless slamming upwind. Kindly, the wind is coming direct from the east, exactly where we want to go. The new joiners have loved their baptism of fire, some taking to throwing up regularly, while others question their life choices.

Alas, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Soon, we hope to round Taiwan, and point in the direction we wish to go. The forecast shows some freer angles the other side of Taiwan, and we will be delighted to return to a flat boat.

It hasn’t been easy, but it has been great preparation for the many challenging days ahead to come on the North Pacific. The bouts of seasickness are on their way out, and this crew is already proving to be a strong and determined bunch. Racing has been close. Tacking within a couple hundred metres of our current pack, it looks like it's going to be a close race all the way. So, keep following along. If you have a moment, please share our UNICEF fundraising link far and wide to see if we can raise some more funds for their vital work:)
