Hello again it's James here,

Hmm what to write about today. Well, first of all, we've managed to acquire some new crew, there's Mary and Andre from Punta del Este, Sandra from Unicef and Iona from WTC Logistics. They for some bizarre reason have volunteered to come and find out what life aboard Zhuhai aka Kevin is like (or maybe they just really dislike being at prize givings). Anyways it’s a pleasure to have them on board and we are very grateful that they have chosen to join us, otherwise it would have been a very difficult race indeed.

So the race started rather inauspiciously with Kevin having some pre-race nerves and refusing to leave the safety of Subic Bay marina, the engine literally cutting out moments after slipping lines. On hopped Jay and within an impressive short amount of time we were on our way. An exciting windy start came to a crashing halt as we around the headland of the bay and hit our first windhole, everybody pretty much in a line, kites up all on different gybes but somehow all kind of going in the same direction. This was very much the pattern of things to come, we would stop dead, held back by some invisible tether, WTC Logistics or Punta del Este etc would come steaming up beside you and then stop as well, just as for some inexplicable reason, you started to speed up again. We would love to attribute this to our raw sailing talent and our old sea dog like intuition but there does seem to be an element of, blind outrageous luck involved here. One particular highlight was nearly getting rammed buy a fishing boat which decided he'd like a really close look at our new branding. As he came steaming in shouting and gesticulating wildly, we answered back in about every foreign language we knew (something about throwing enough at the wall and seeing what sticks). We narrowly avoided him so maybe it worked. Today, so far, we have been making fairly unspectacular progress up the coast, with another windhole looming it's looking like this will be another classic Zhuhai race as after all this one is named after us.

Best wishes from Wendy, myself all the Unizhu del Puhai Logistics team and Kevin!
