We are now off sailing a triangular course. I'm loving it! It's going to have a bit of everything, it’s quite short, hopefully as it is currently, it will be close racing. We are under Spinnaker right now and it is glorious sailing.

This leg we have four new joiners so welcome guys, yesterday was spent with MOB drills and a refresher sail before we did a Le Mans start. A Le Mans start is so much fun, the boats all line up then at a certain time the crew will hoist the front sails, we all start with the same sail plan and have to hold a certain course for 10 minutes then we are like free range chickens and can wander anywhere. Unfortunately for us, we were the leeward boat, this means all the boats above us are taking our wind. we hoisted the sails really well, but were just a little slow so got rolled by most of the fleet. But it was fun. Oh yeah did I mention this was in the dark, and we had to delay the start a little until a tanker crossed in front of us all in a line? Wonder what he thought was going on, looked like some sort of yacht ballet, which I have done in the past, google Australia Day yacht ballet.

Our new joiners are fitting in nicely and it’s good to have some new energy on the boat, the funniest thing I saw yesterday, we had completed our MOB drills and we had left BOB, Ruth or yesterday I called her Doris, our life size and weight dummy that we use as the MOB. I asked the crew to put her/him away down below please, usually it’s a two or three person job, next thing Alex had just slung him/her over his shoulder and carried him or her away down below, even managing the companionway stairs by himself, never seen that before.

Anyways time to go as we are in a Dell Latitude Rugged Ocean Sprint, the guys up ahead are a little faster but we won't give up and are trying our best or rather fastest.

Where’s the romance

Love youse all
