Hello from the mid-Atlantic ocean
I hope that you are enjoying a good summer- I can’t believe that Wimbledon has already started.
The crew on Derry~Londonderry~Doire
remain in good form - highly focused and racing to their utmost. The challenge
seems greater because the crews are much more competitive after so many months
sailing and are all the more determined as we make the last ocean crossing back
to the UK.
With 24 people on board the living space is challenging. But everything is
possible. Put a group of people together who have never met before with
differing abilities, and give them a goal to win, and you have a team. Add a
few local Derry people and you have an awesome team! It may be easier to achieve this on a sailing
boat with no other distractions or responsibilities, but it is still amazing to
be part of it!
I am on Mother duty tomorrow. My first time without the guidance of an experienced bread maker, so here’s hoping that the boat stays level!!
Can’t wait for Derry to see family and friends. Must go – duty calls!
