Leg 8. The final leg. The home stretch. We have three races to go with a crowded leader board making for an exciting end to this edition of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.

We have a defined finish line - London. We have a determined date of finish - 30 July 2022. Then, this edition is considered concluded. However, the experience for us all will continue well into the future.

Our enhanced sailing skills will be brought to other bodies of water. We will trim and helm with new mates on different vessels sharing the knowledge we obtained here.

Our increased life skills will be brought to our respective homes. We will no longer need to call the handyman when something at home just doesn’t properly work. We will just grab our newly purchased toolbox (equipped with a folding knife with a blunt tip and serrated blade, electrical tape, and a piece of line) and get on the job.

The friendships. There is no end to the friendships. The smiles and laughter we consistently shared while under some gruelling conditions at times will never stop. The jokes and banter will not cease. And in the future, many of our paths will cross and meet.
