Making Rainbows

It feels like we have been going upwind for a while now. It is just a bit more exhausting living on the boat when it is heeled over. Muscles are sore from bracing as we move about the boat and sleep if you are on the uphill tack can be challenging. Head sail changes can be a struggle, and everyone seems a bit more tense. It is chilly inside the boat and stiff tingly fingers and toes. Cold on deck even with my three pairs of socks and gloves. Aside from that, there are still beautiful moments out here. Nights where the stars shine and shooting stars are plentiful. Nights where we spot dolphins, not by their jumps but by the streaks of bioluminescence stirred parallel to us. Mornings where the sunrises colour the sky instead of the dull grey of clouds. And every day when the ocean changes colours ranging from steel grey to hues of deep blue and green. And today where rainbows appear in the spray coming off our bow combined with the bright sunny light. Today, we make our own rainbows that arches towards us. We are the treasure at the end of our own rainbows that we create.
