Well hello friends and Imagine your Korea family, hope you’re all doing well? I am pleased to confirm that we are most DEFINITELY in the Atlantic now – our first few days after the Le Mans Start was, well, rather benign, shorts & tee shirts only, now, well lets just say things are a little splashier. We all resemble minions or bumblebees (aka wearing foulie bottoms and/or jackets) and are frequently cursing the rogue waves that come splashing over the side - current conversations are related to where we are all finding salt crystals. The ears seem to be the most popular currently.

As you can all see from the tracker, we took a similar route to Qingdao, Punta del Este and Dare To Lead – which added on about 100 miles to our route, but at the time looked to give us more favourable weather as well as benefiting from the Gulf Stream. Whilst we most definitely did get benefits from the Gulf Stream, it looks like those who took the shorter route and tacked into it, may well have got it right. Time will tell.

Mood on board is good, although a few are struggling with the sea state and the horrible green monster. Today has been pretty full on with only three of us being up for helming on our watch in the weather & sea state. I have requested that we tack soon, otherwise we’ll all have lopsided shoulders. Wind is consistently in the high 20s, gusting up to low 30s – we’ve reefed in and out multiple times, changed Yankees, and safe to say we may be a little cream crackered. Half an hour to go before we can collapse into our bunks for our 4 hours snooze! Should really say TTFN and get back on deck. Stay safe, have fun and happy anniversary to Vince & Linda!
