Crew Diary - Race 1, Day 3
05 September

Hi everyone I’m Frankie (Zheng Yi). I’m a Qingdao Ambassador. I want to say hello to my family, friends and all of the people I care about. I’m good right now. We started three days ago. We are ahead of all of the boats. Everyone is excited. The boat was sailing upwind for three days. Everything is inclined. For my first day, it is Mother Watch day, and James and I need to cook food for 20 people. It is a big challenge to work on an incline. But all is fine, James is a good man and very helpful. So we will do a very good job.

This is my second time taking part in the Clipper Race. My last race I did Leg 1 and Leg 7. This year I will complete the full circumnavigation. This is a very hard and a big challenge for me, but I think I can keep going to finish. My phone isn’t working at the moment to allow me to take notes and pictures, but I will get to Portugal and hopefully get it fixed. On watch I like to be on the helm. Sometimes I can sail very fast and I hope I can learn lots of new skills. At night the stars are very beautiful. I’m really enjoying it. Finally, I hope we can get calm winds and it will be comfortable. It will be good. I want to say I love you to my family and friends. I miss you .
