Leg 8/ Race 12/ Day 11– July 7 – Cindy's Blog
Dear my friends and Qingdao Sailing Office, here's Hello from the north of the Atlantic Ocean.
Going through the hard days of seasickness at the beginning of Leg 8, finally I feel better now. It's a really unforgettable memory of my life. Life is hard, you should keep fighting with it.
In the last 24 hours, we made the highest speed of 18 knots from Sophie, it was amazing. In around 15:00 to 17:00, we changed the spinnaker from Code 2 (mediumweight spinnaker) to Code 3 (heavyweight spinnaker), because there was a hole in the Code 2. And then, almost in 15 minutes, the Code 3 was broken in two pieces! The Code 3 is a spinnaker that has many stories! We will fix it in Derry.
Now we are sailing upwind towards the finish line. And I have already gone through the seasickness, I am enjoying the race. Only 400 miles left. Hope everything going well.
See you in Derry.
