Another night of trimming and helming but with a lot more moonlight last night. Stars would be easier to helm by but the moon is impressive, lighting up the Spinnaker and clouds. It’s almost full moon and the sky is totally different to the black skies of a week ago.

Today the wind is good and generally where we need it but also a little tricky with the rolling sea; it was more than a little challenging to keep up the best speed, in a straight line, and also in the right direction!

The below decks sauna/turkish bath doesn’t get any cooler but we are now very used to wearing J-cloths and other fashion accessories to aid the necessary mopping!

New wildlife today! A few dolphins, several gannets doing lateral loop-the-loops (and catching their prey very deftly!) and 2 turtles cruising the surface, wondering what we are doing out here.

We are now over the Mariana straight – deeper than 2 Mt. Everests stacked on top of each other. It’s difficult to fully appreciate the vast scale of things out here and what a tiny blip on the seascape we really represent. Quite mind-blowing!

Bilge time now. Joy!
