Sailing in between highs and lows

There are ups and downs while sailing. The wave takes the boat up and then drives it down . The art of sailing fast is to master the ups and downs as optimally as possible. The strategy is to find the best course in between the airstreams of the lows surrounding the high. So is the weather, it changes from beautiful sunny periods to nasty drizzling grey in grey. The water is grey and so is the sky with deep hanging clouds and reduced visibility. Amazing is the ability of the helmsmen to steer a steady fast course under such deep dark conditions what we were facing last night. We came from the water temperature of the gulfstream of 27 degrees Celsius to now 14 degrees. The air temperature has also dropped. My sailors' mood also has highs and lows. It changes from lows to highs as the air pressure does.

The race has been prolonged. We will hopefully see St. Kilda in the daylight and we are looking forward to nicer weather to come to celebrate our Atlantic Ocean crossing in Derry~Londonderry!

Best wishes from all the crew aboard Visit Sanya, China
