Our watch Seahawks were awoken early this morning with the cry of all hands on deck! I knew something was up when I heard the Skipper bellow 'Blow the tack'. So up we trot in our sleep induced state and spend the next 35 minutes hauling the Code 2 Spinnaker back on deck, then putting up the Code 3. All was good and we could carry on on our course to The Philippines.

Temperatures outside have cooled down a bit since crossing the Equator, however, down below we are still suffering from the heat. Last night we had quite a few Squalls, so I was able to wash my hair up on deck, which is actually a lot of fun. The lack of showers hasn't been as bad as you may think. We are not really smelling too badly and just shows how obsessed society is with the daily shower and hair washing routine.

Food is becoming interesting! We haven't started opening those tins of three bean mix or four bean mix thankfully. I'm craving a simple bowl of pasta with fresh parmesan cheese! All meals are served in a bowl so you never really know what's in there until you start eating. It's a bit like Diner in the Dark but not as many courses and not so cordon bleu!! The more worrying news is that we are running low on toilet paper, only to be expected really with so many women on board!

Thank you to Ben for bringing me back that blue sarong back from your travels, it's so useful and an absolute necessary on a hot leg! With approximately another 2,000 NM clean clothing is getting short so we may have to delve into our dirty wash bags for a dry pair of pants to wear!

Life on board is interesting, challenging and frustrating at times, but as the Australians like to say 'All is good'. I'm missing my Nordic W(T)alking sessions and long for a night out with the girls! Keep watching that Race Viewer and fingers crossed Seattle will be up there with the top boats. After hearing we were heading for Subic Bay in The Philippines we were all a little relieved that we had somewhere to go. We still don't know what is happening afterwards so keep an eye on the Clipper Race website for details. Sad I won't be seeing you, Mum and Dad, in Zhuhai, but health comes first. Love to all and 'bis bald!'
