Coming on to deck this morning after breakfast, the first thing that was pointed out to me was the line of holes that had appeared in the Code 2 Spinnaker overnight. There is nothing like a spinnaker drop, and hoist first thing on the watch to help wake you up. We needed to patch the damage more than the short term gains, we would get from keeping it flying. After all the excitement at the start of our day, we were given a playful display by a pod of dolphins as they swam alongside jumping in and around our bow wave. Our time on deck continued as normal rotating jobs on an hourly basis, to help keep everyone focused. With a reduced crew up top, it was especially important to keep the boat sailing smoothly as several had disappeared into the hot confines of the sail locker, to effect some speedy repairs. As the days go by our world grows smaller as we get into the rhythm of the boat, and get further from the ever connected world we left behind at the start of this journey.
