Watch schedule of the most Honourable Shellback

07.00 am Wake up from 12-hour deck nap

07.00 – 07.15 am Berate pollywogs for not putting four safety turns on all winches, run to the galley, and eat 1kg powdered milk

07.15 – 07.20 Complete log entries for the whole day.

07.20 – 09.00 am convinced three fishing vessels to alter course followed by nav station power nap.

09.00 – 10.00 am Check helm pollywog, stand on the bow and scream instructions back – boat speed increases by five knots.

10.00 – 10.05 am Spinnaker hoist, sweat Code 3 single-handed with no tailing. Previous packing is too strong and the sail does not inflate in 40 knots of wind.

10.05 – 11.00 am Take the helm and intentionally sail into a squall, immediately blow spinnaker – use anti-wrap net (Dirk) to sail exact COG at 20 kts.

11.05 – 11.40 am Sail locker nap then head to galley to wait for lunch.

11.40 – 12.40 pm Stare at cooks in silence while they prepare lunch.

12.40 – 12.41 pm Lunch served – say not hungry and head on deck.

12.41 – 01.00 pm Complain to other shellbacks of quality of seawater and powdered milk, prepare for intense deck nap
