The Dark Side of the Moon

As I looked up at the moon last night I thought about the dark side, that very few people have ever seen for real. I then thought of us sailing down the west coast of Africa, just off the Western Sahara and I had the same thought. Anyone who has ever looked at a globe will know where we are, but only a few will ever have been here to see it. Having said that one piece of an ocean, looks very much like another when there’s nothing else to see, although last night we posted a lookout and had someone watching the radar. Boats in this area don’t always follow the rules with AIS or even lights.

For those of you reading this at home, thank you, I was sitting exactly where you are two years ago when I followed the Great Britain boat around the world. I knew no one in the race, so I choose one team to follow and soon became hooked waiting for the latest position update and the morning blog. I hope you will continue to follow us on our journey and if you would like to know more please check out our Instagram channel and YouTube account (@wtclogistics) for more updates, pictures and videos. (don’t forget to subscribe).

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who is following me and for the messages of support, they really do make a difference. To Fiona and Erin especially, without whom I wouldn’t be here, I am missing you both already.

And lastly for those who know me, the foods ok, pasta, rice, pasta, rice, tuna! I am counting down the days until that steak and chips and a pint or two.

Until next time.

Mark
