First two days Race 7.

My name is David Arizmendi, just arrived to Leg 5. I was born and live in Monterrey Mexico, a city surrounded by Mountains. So, as you may wonder I have no sailing experience at all.

It has been hard getting used to the watches and the heat, ohh the heat hahahaha. But everything is great at sea and when you are up on deck the view of the ocean and the other Clipper Race boats is wonderful. It is better when they are behind us.

Since I am new, I am learning everyday something new. Some of the guys are patient and some not that much. We are trying to win the race and only Perseverance is in front of us, so that is the boat to beat.

Taking baths is a challenge and you end up being sticky in seven minutes, but those seven minutes of freshness are just great. We have had some issues with food going off. So, we are just going to have to deal with it and do something that was not in the menu.

The night time is the perfect place to sleep, temperatures inside the boat decrease a little bit, enough to get some shuteye. So many stars at night, you just wonder where they go when you are in the city.
