Crew Diary - Half of the world

Zhuhai is really a small world for 19 crews. But there’s an endless sea world under Zhuhai, and an endless sky above; sunshine in the daytime and full of stars in the night. They are the same on for everyday but the views never same. When you lie down on the deck and look at the top of the mast, you are the whole world.

But, everybody on the boat can only know half of the world. That is because we have two watches to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That means half of the day you must lie on the bunk sleeping. So if you have a nice sun-rise today, you can meet it again the day after tomorrow.

Even more, you can meet another watch only when watches hand-over, so you know half the crew much more than other. Hope we can stay friends on land.

Hot drink

Usually, when people talk about the Chinese the refer to the boiled water they drink. But now I know, western people need hot-drinks far more than Chinese. On watch, hot-drink after hot-drink; 35 degrees under the sun, hot-drink… And different kinds for everyone.

Summer to winter

How long does it take from summer to winter? And spring? NO, it only need 1 second on Zhuhai. When the boat crossed the equator, everybody said “welcome to winter, snow is waiting us.” How hot we are!"
