Vote for the Clipper Race: two ocean crossing videos up for prestigious award

The public vote, in the Mirabaud Sailing Video of the Century Awards 2000-2020, is now open with two videos shot on the Clipper Race up for the prestigious award.

North Pacific Heart’ was filmed and edited by On Board Reporter (OBR) Rich Edwards during the Clipper 2015-16 Race. From towering waves to the camaraderie amongst Race Crew, the short film captures the raw beauty and sense of purpose of a North Pacific Ocean crossing.


With footage from OBRs Cherie Bridges, Maeve Bardy and Dani Devine, and edited by 1080 Media TV’s Maria Aloy Figueras, ‘Ocean Emotions’ features some breathtaking moments from the Clipper 2019-20 Race.

The Mirabaud Sailing Video Award was launched to honour the best sailing videos produced each year and their filmmakers. The annual contest is open to professional cameramen, directors, editors and TV production companies from all over the world. It celebrates high achievement in sailing imagery, filming, editing and storytelling.

The fourth edition of the competition aims to reward the best videos produced between 2000 and 2020, allowing a variety of the best entries despite a complicated year. 17 nationalities are represented with videos that perfectly illustrate the world of sailing. From dinghy to multihulls, from training to racing, emotions, thrills and adrenaline are guaranteed!

You can vote here online until 12 November in order to determine the winners of the Public Award.

In parallel, the six members of the international jury are currently selecting the main winners of the competition, based on three criteria: general appreciation, quality of the production and originality.
