Everyday's a school day...

After the satisfaction of sailing through the night with a steady breeze, a smooth sea and a galaxy of stars to guide you, the dawn comes and with it the sunshine to rob you of your progress, stealing the wind from your sails. The day slows to a heat wilting drift as we mark time, every hour on the hour until sunset, the cool of the night and the hope of breeze to stir us once more.

And still, we are learning, learning when the Yankee 1 out performs the Windseeker, when you should have tacked on that shift you had instead of when you did and all with the evidence of hindsight, painfully spelled out on the chart plotter.

Occasionally we glimpse a competitor on our AIS, it tells a tale of tacks, tracks and tactics, sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind and sometimes you're just plain last! In spite of our difficulties the focus of the team is high, eager to make a comeback, learning our lessons, life on the low side, growing as we go.
