The fleet is currently transitioning between two Satellite regions and therefore some teams are unable to connect their fleet broadband. Regular communication is maintained with the Clipper Race Office and blogs will be added as soon as they reach the next satellite coverage area.

Hello,

Petrels, rain, darker green water; we can smell the United Kingdom!

Miles are reducing considerably towards the finish, I think I saw a seagul too, nearly the end of the last ocean crossing of our epic round the world race!

All good here, we had a nice Thai chicken curry for dinner, the sail repair on our lightweight spinnaker is still happening but the heel and the sea state doesn't make it easy, so well done to the team for the perseverance to get it ready for the light winds ahead.

We’ve had some issues with satcomms, which connects us to email, think of it a little bit like a satellite wind hole or something which is quite annoying because I can't check where everyone is. Blind navigation it is!

We had a little event today, when we sent the Code 3 (heavyweight spinnaker) up, one of the sheet wasn't connected properly resulting of the spinnaker flying all over the place, but a few pirates managed to get it down without any damages, another day at the office!

Now we are sprinting for the last Elliot Brown Ocean Sprint, hopefully we will get some points on that one! Wish us luck!

GT out
