A better day, still a frustrating 8 knots of wind currently, but not as bad as yesterday. It is frustrating seeing the rest of the fleet pulling away in the wind we could not quite reach because of a broken main halyard and a 20 nautical mile sail in the wrong direction. We are still running along the edge of the wind and have not seen a gust over 12 knots and mostly 8-10, however far better than yesterday where we did not see 8 knots. It is also a very long race course and a lot can happen in 5,000 nautical miles. Hopefully we have had our only major damage early. Hold thumbs.

Anyway on another note, we must have done another day of spinnaker peels and loads of gybes. The crew were great. Not one issue, not one wrap, not one anything bar good sailing and good seamanship. All the time put into practice and briefing and learning is really now beginning to pay off. There is not much more a Skipper can ask of his crew. Makes me very proud.

In fact, there is another thing I can ask for the crew. Good food, and wow, is that being delivered in full. I would list what they are serving, but honestly I can spell or even pronounce half of what I am served. All I know is that it is really good. Long may it last as since the sea sickness has left the boat for bumpier decks, food has become very important. Hopefully the green monster never comes back. While I am mentioning food, I would like to single Candela Guo and Paul Briggs as having done a superb job of the victualling, thanks so much.

So, today we look forward to better winds and perhaps starting our catch up. Continued good sailing and loads of laughter.

Cheers from a full tum.

Chat later,

Wavy
