‘Ello folks, only a short one from me today.

Well, if I think back all those years ago when I was fresh faced and bushy eyed: back before Gosport and my first ocean trip and finding out the delights of The Castle and The Anchor; learning about how the Clipper 70s and Farr 65s sail and handle; learning to manage a large crew, starting as a Mate learning from all the Skippers I’ve sailed with over the last 12 or so years… I have to say by far the last 48 hours have been my toughest.

We have had many a muck up in the last two days starting from the rudder to the top of the mast and everything in between, and something at some point or another things have not gone totally to plan. But! And this is a massive but, the crew have never grumbled, they have always got stuck in and not stopped until the problem is solved, so my truly honest thanks to them for absolutely smashing it (again).

The crew are all in good health and spirits if only a little tired, but this is to be expected with what they have had to deal with. So we are going to rest and reset so we are ready to race and give it one last final push. Derry~Londonderry here we come - you best be ready for us because much like this low approaching we are coming for you and there's nowt you can do about it. Right, I’m exhausted - like proper exhausted. Good night all.
