Impromptu blog as we missed one!

Apologies to our loyal followers and of course, the mighty Clipper Race Comms Team for not delivering you a blog yesterday. We will try to appease the goddesses of comms next time!

We’ve had a jam packed 72 hours on board Ha Long Bay, Viet Nam after we passed through a low pressure system which knocked our socks off a bit and then scooped us downwind around the bottom of it towards the next bit of our race, the Ocean Sprint.

Since then, we’ve had fairly fickle winds and progress has been hard to come by as we watch our competitors head slightly further north behind us in the hope of flying over the top. We’re in Stealth Mode now so hopefully we get out of this hole and start sprinting at a good pace before we’re seen again either tomorrow or the day after.

For friends and family at home, our Wi-Fi seems to be down with only the nav PC able to send emails but unfortunately, even though they’re more than welcome to use the nav PC for emails, some crew have forgotten their passwords! I just wanted to send out a wider call to say all is well and the crew are in good spirits so no need to worry!

Anyway, that last 1000nm is in sight. Let’s get it. Kachow.

Hooroo cobbers,

Cam, Bob and the tireless crew of Ha Long Bay

P.S I want to wish my best mate George a VERY happy 25th birthday. Hopefully see you soon mate. Much love.
