It's a beautiful starlit night and probably our last full one at sea before we finish the race to New York. There are a few planets visible and the Milky Way is showing up like a bright cloud.

Today's sailing has been reaching with white sails and downwind with the Code 2 (Mediumweight Spinnaker). Yesterday evening and into the night we were treated to a spectacular thunderstorm full of thunder lightening and wind and rain that required us to reef down and also to be ready to drop the Yankee 1. Mary Frawley held a steady course throughout and we did not lose much time as we negotiated the light winds on the other side before breaking into the easterly winds that we enjoyed since. This wind has veered as forecast and we just next need to time our gybe right for the final sprint to New York.
