Cracking on.

Imagine your Korea has had a couple of days of good speeds but hard work. Relatively small variations in wind strength/direction mean frequent changes from Code 2 to Yankee 1 or Yankee 2 and back again, with or without a reef. All good splashy fun to help gel our new watches together. Evidently our 'go south early' plan didn't work out so well, and we're now chasing the pack through small patches of Gulf Stream like snakes and ladders: we want a free ride on the (favourable current) ladders without slipping back on the (adverse current) snakes. We are already past Newfoundland ("Eh?") and will soon begin picking our way NE between a weather-front-that-never-quite-arrives and a high-pressure-ridge-that-may-or-may-not-be-there.

But enough of race tactics:

Imagine your Korea Leg 7 and 8 Race Crew Vince Pearson wishes Linda a happy anniversary, and celebrated on board by cooking us up a treat with one of his trademark silly games and little prizes thrown in.

Disaster was narrowly averted this afternoon when helm Jamie Scarborough soaked Jo Warne ... and her tobacco pouch! Luckily the resultant blast of language was hot enough to dry everything out.

Meanwhile the Skipper has welcomed the opportunity to discover that the in-bunk water feature he's been trying to fix since Subic Bay (how long ago was that?) is definitely still available, either one drop at a time, or as an occasional cubby-tsunami. Aahhh, boat joy.

Cheers, Rob
