We have come out of the front that has passed over us and into some amazing clear skies. The boat has become the back garden of a terraced house, full of drying clothes. Jackets have been removed in an attempt to catch the rays, and the deck was touchable with a light, dare I say, heat this morning. All this has been a pleasant break from the relentless grey that has plagued us for five days. We are down wind, spinnaker up, flat boat. The most exciting part of this for most people is the ability to go to the heads at a safe angle.

There are only two things that are making the day not a perfect North Pacific sail:

1. Wave state hasn't calmed down as much as expected, making the helming a little tricky
2. The ever-looming position reports showing how well the south of the fleet is doing(congrats)

Watching the forecast we have been anticipating today and the following day for a little while. Nice flat boat with clear skies and we are definitely making the most of it, small chance to recover before the "Ultimate Test of Perseverance" continues. We are 100nm off the International Date Line, the start of the Northern limit, and being this far north we are very conscious of the fact we are likely to be squeezed close to the limit.

On Deck Chat: Is there any point in Max servicing the heads if they work worse after he has touched them?
On Deck Snacks: Dried Shrimp (weirdly nice)
On Deck Music: According to Jack, Silent meditation. I would argue not music but there we go.
