The downwind conditions this leg promised are yet to start. So far we have been heading upwind or close reaching since the start. Not a bad thing, just a tricky start for anyone susceptible to the green monster. We have a couple of crew who are definitely feeling the pull to the dark side. Hopefully only a couple more hours and we will be freed off and able to give them the respite they require.

Otherwise the rest of the boat has been finding their feet, literally in some cases, and getting used to sailing at an angle and the flow of boat life. We discovered randomly at Race Start that some point overnight just before the start that a bird must have tried to land on our Windex and has snapped it in half. Put that on the jobs list for when the weather settles out.

We have been discovering the sweetness of American bread with some BLTs on the first day, not to everyone's taste but bacon is always a delight on board.
