Hello, Qingers!!

Here we go, back at it again! Just a small race this time. Just a quick hop to America – or not.

After a short, busy but great stopover in our very welcoming home port of Qingdao, we now have enough food onboard to feed an army and are as ready as we can be for what’s to come.

I’m sure everyone is talking about the foggy conditions we’ve had since the start of the race; visibility is so low; that it almost seems like we’re out here on our own. That is until you look at the chart plotter and the hundreds of fishing boats around. So again, we find ourselves weaving, dodging, and calling boats on the radio trying not to get caught in any nets (I imagine Perseverance has a good blog on this) or get too close to one of the many huge tankers around. The traffic in this area is one thing I will not miss!

But before we start thinking of putting the fishing fleets behind us and the massive ocean and potentially big seas that wait for us, there’s a lot of racing to be done in quite changeable conditions towards Japan! So far, we’re very happy with how the boat and crew are performing so long may that continue!

Love to those at home,

Henry, Phil, and the dragon riders
