Hello Qingers!

Today we have more ‘I told you so's’. After a couple of days of flying along and pushing really hard we have managed to find the wind hole promised.

At present we are bobbing along at a heady 2-3 knots as the wind dropped all day. We are like a duck without webbed feet. After having been hitting the 20 knot mark regularly and a high of 25.5 knots over the last days, now we have resumed business as normal. Not that we didn’t know it was coming. Still hurts though.

So, the plan… Keep the boat moving in the general direction of Seattle and slowly edge our way through hoping that the boats behind suffer the same fate and don’t overrun us. Certainly not an impossibility given that they are not too far behind. And most certainly not far enough to give us any comfort.

I had hoped to start this with, ‘this will be the last blog of this race’, but as it happens it may not be. I really hope not to be writing to you again this race, even though we love talking to you.

On the plus side, the sun was shining, and it is warm enough to feel like spring. Still a bit cold in the nights but we can’t have everything now can we. We can tell that land is getting closer as we are encountering more shipping heading in and out of Seattle.

We are still dreaming of a beer and burgers/steak etc. when we finish and will try our best to make that as soon as possible. Let's see how we get on and keep praying to your gods.

Love to those at home – or waiting in Seattle,

Phil, Henry and the dragon riders
