Hello Qingers
Welcome all to Race 9, the race that brings us home to Qingdao. The whole crew are super excited about sailing into our home port, where we know the famous Qingdao welcome is waiting.
After a good La Mans start where we found ourselves in the leading pack, we worked hard all night and fought our way to first place. It's very early, so not to get too excited, but it is nice to be at the front and to a small degree able to sail our own race.
At the minute we have about 25kts of wind and with the sea state brings seasickness to the boat. A number of our crew are feeling particularly sorry for themselves. This should pass, especially as the wind eases a bit later and hopefully, we get everyone up to full strength again. Ready for more hard work trying to stay at the front.
A short one for now as it's hard to type at 45 degrees with the boat bouncing off one wave and crashing onto the next.
