Hello Qingers,

It’s been a good couple days since the last blog. The wind and sea state has calmed down enough for some of the crew to regain colour in their faces. We’ve had some very close racing with the other boats and it's still early in the race, so we expect to see plenty of position changes.

That being said, the extra motivation of coming into our home has been working so far and we regularly find ourselves at the front of the fleet!

For our new leggers, they’ve been thrown in at the deep end with this race, but they’ve handled it brilliantly above and below deck.

We’re now well into the Ocean Sprint, and so are pushing extra hard to go east as quick as possible. Last night, we were trying to avoid the wind shadow behind Taiwan, while going close enough to it to get the favourable wind shift. We did an okay job, but some boats risked being further north which seems to have paid off. Now, it's all about sailing fast, avoiding the negative current and setting ourselves up to exit where we want.

We’re all looking forward to rounding Taiwan to find a little less wind, so we can stop working so hard to move around the boat.

Love to those at home,

Henry, Phil and the dragon riders
