Hello everyone,

It's been a wet and wild ride on board Visit Sanya, China over the past 24 hours! With winds gusting up to 45 knots, the boat surfing at speeds of up to 22 knots and some very excited crew- it's fantastic to have some big smiles on board. Also, we broke out the ham today! Vad, one of our crew, ordered a whole ham leg (it's got the trotters and everything) to the boat in london and we started in on it today, it is delicious! We are now also ocean sprinting, the routing is showing a lovely straight southerly course with a slight curve to the east so it’ll be a close run sprint. The question is, do you sacrifice potential overall position in the race for the sprint or the sprint for overall race position? Or do you have to sacrifice anything at all? Only time will tell.

Spirits on board are high and as the odometer ticks over the 1000 mile mark people are already thinking about the stopover and what they're going to eat first, if this is their excitement after one week at sea wait until we get to Punta Del Este!

Until tomorrow,

Seumas
