I’m sure you’re bored of reading this but it's cold out here in the middle of the North Pacific. The weather front we had been staying the warm side of moved over us, providing us with the colder winds that the northern part of the fleet has been sailing in for several days. We had a brief reminder that the sun does in fact exist out here as we had one fantastic day of clear blue sky before we approached the edge of the low pressure system that has come up from Hawaii. Now the boat is back on its side as we crash through the messy swell thrown out.
Yesterday was Jan’s birthday, but as he was on galley duties, the celebrations (cake) was postponed until today. Despite the weather or maybe because of it, spirits are heigh and laughter can often be heard on deck as one or another unlucky crew gets soaked, much to the amusement of everyone else. We all know at some point we will be the ones to get the drenching. The bigger the wave the better. I’m sure some are taking it as a challenge to get people as they come up on deck.
