Hey guys,

Been a bit busy so here's a quick written blog. See you soon.

At the time of writing, we are 132NM direct line from the finish. It feels huge to be so close after what has been a fast-paced, hot, cold, bumpy, and slow race.

It has been a taste of everything, and great prep for the Pacific. Last night, we had a right Palava when we decided to take some of the fishing fleet lines with us, just as we had hoisted our spinnaker. It was a bizarre feeling to have the kite fully inflated, as we travelled at 0 knots trawling.

In a rather exciting turn of events, the bread knife was our weapon of choice and we freed ourselves from the net. We lost two miles on Qingdao in the process, but everything was untangled okay. We have since had the kite up, a lot of gybes, and a lot of pressure with Qingdao hot on our heels for the run-in.

It is going to be an exciting evening as the wind builds, and we are stoked to get in, get some beers, and go for a big team meal for Felix’s birthday!

Love,

A strong and stoked UNICEF team
