Good evening,

We’ve currently got 40nm left to go! PSP Logistics and Dare To Lead are both very close, with only a few miles between us to the finish (in fact Dare To Lead is only 0.05nm closer to the finish than us). Our Isles and Oceans has also just popped up on AIS so I will keep this one short.

It won’t have gone unnoticed to race viewers that our position this leg has varied, and we have been towards the back of the fleet throughout. Despite this, each crew member has chosen to bring a positive attitude to every day and sustained this throughout this long passage. It is such a privilege to be part of a team who continue to strive towards better performance and bring positivity and joy to every day and every new challenge.

There is a brutality to this kind of sailing that is hard to explain. Living conditions aren’t easy and there can be a sense of monotony that others have alluded to in blogs. Yet the crew gave even more. Their diligence, skill and energy in producing culinary delights, brewing the most delicious tea, ‘embroidering’ sails and sharing stories and emotions. And while doing all this they have crafted slick evolutions, helming and trimming.

We have sailed across the North Pacific. We may not be standing on the podium, but we will be standing with our heads held high knowing that we have all shown courage in bringing our whole selves to the boat. We are all truly grateful to have shared the mighty pacific crossing with one another. I am so proud to have sailed this ocean with such an incredible team on board Little Washy.

Ella, Hannah and the Washington, DC crew.
