How lucky we are that we had the privilege to live twice the wind hole! (Crossing the International Date Line)

We are now moving eastward which give us a better feeling that we are progressing toward our destination of Seattle. So far, the Windseeker is the sail we have used the most in the Pacific, who would have thought that! The world is changing and so are the oceans. Yesterday we saw two lonely whales which have been the only marine life we’ve seen since we left Qingdao with exception of seabirds. It’s always nice to see these giants moving with such elegance. They must be very curious about us as it seems they always come close to the boat to have a look at who we are, and perhaps wonder what are we doing here?

Despite the fact of very light winds conditions, which we all hate, the crew have really enjoyed these past two days as we had dry and sunny days allowing them to be on deck more comfortably and dry their foulies. They are ready for more windy conditions and we will have to push hard to regain mileage lost with the leaders. I hope the others in the front will get their wind holes too. I was told by very wise people that luck goes from neighbourhood to neighbourhood.

On the random news, it is getting colder everyday, and we need to be well dressed for these winter-like conditions, especially at night. We finally defeated the flu and everybody feels powerful again. Some crew started to share their personal reserve of chocolate with others which makes everyone happy. Happiness is always greater when shared and is also very contagious. Cleo is in the lead for winning the Peter Ford challenge in the galley [the PF challenge consist of making our dry-sweat Chinese sausages more delightful]. David Howe is by far the best DJ onboard, however Camilo is challenging him with his selection of romantic music. Kepa is showing his Vasco brave side as he sacrificed his preferred morning bread to adopt the famous British porridge for breakfast, in our intent of saving cooking gas as this passage is taking more time than expected. I no longer know when my birthday is as with the International Date Line passed yesterday messed all of our calendars. Are we the 13th or the 14th? No one seems to know onboard.

Big hug to all our supporters around the world, we are in debt for giving you better results. You can be sure we will continue to fight hard and do the best of our abilities to make you proud.

Vamos Punta!!!
